After public hearings on November 10, the Town Board approved a local law to override the state’s new two percent cap on property tax increases and passed the final budget for 2012.

The final budget calls for an increase in taxes of 3.85 percent. More than half of ths increase is accounted for by a large mandated increase in the Town’s contribution to the state retirement fund. Much of the remainder of the increase stems from higher health insurance costs. The budget does not contain salary increases for any Town officials.
